A Message on Food Safety, Quality & Service from the Wawona President

Beginning 75 years ago as a small family farm, Wawona, continues today as a family-owned agri-business and major producer of fresh frozen food products. Nestled in California’s San Joaquin Valley, Wawona sits in the center of the richest and most fertile agricultural region of the world, the perfect environment for growing the best quality fruits.

For three generations, we of Wawona Frozen Foods have demonstrated our passion for food quality and safety in all aspects of food production, delivering the best quality fruit from the field to your freezer. In fact, much of the fruit grown and processed at Wawona is sold to other food companies as fruit ingredients for pies, baby foods, yogurt and other food products. Schools have trusted our fruit for years – we currently serve millions of school children every year. All our products are packed with refreshing taste, texture, natural sweetness and the nutritional benefits of fresh fruit. Our fresh frozen fruit is as close to nature as we can make it.

Supervisors from all departments share our consistent manufacturing practices and food safety, bringing accountability to all on the production floor. Employee involvement is actively solicited and effective communication are essential in maintaining the satisfaction of our customers.

To assure the goals and disciplines are fully implemented, Wawona Frozen Foods has assigned staff and service resources sufficient to execute and maintain the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), selecting the SQF 2000 level 2 systems audit scheme for verification.
