    Mixed Fruit

    Wawona has several unique blends of mixed fruit – from traditional 3- and 4-Berry Blends to a kaleidoscope of colors and flavors in the Spectrum Blend (Peaches, Strawberries, White Peaches, Honeydew Melon, Blueberries and Pineapple). Each of Wawona’s mixed fruit options are filled with fresh fruit that is individually quick frozen to preserve the juicy flavors. Most are California-grown fruits except for the pears, which are from Washington, and the pineapples and mangoes are imported. All the imported fruit is meticulously sourced to ensure it has the same quality and safety levels as domestic fruit.

  • PEACHES

    Peaches

    Wawona Frozen Foods is the oldest, largest and most prestigious family-owned company in the frozen peach industry. From orchards throughout California, including 600 acres of company-owned trees in Clovis, peaches are carefully hand-picked at harvest and transferred to the processing facility. After washing, sizing, pitting, peeling and frequent inspections, the golden peach halves move on conveyor belts by professional graders who separate the fruit into Wawona’s four product lines:

    • The perfect peaches are selected as Signature Sliced Peaches for desserts
    • A large number of peaches head to the blast freezer to be individually quick frozen (IQF) for peach products, blends, yogurts, etc.
    • Softer peaches are sliced and designated for ice cream manufacturers
    • The overripe fruit is sent to the purée line where Vitamin C and sugar are added

    Strawberries

    Whether conventional or organic, Wawona offers a number of varieties of fresh frozen strawberries – all delivered with box-to-box consistent quality. The IQF process preserves the freshness, quality and flavor. Wawona supplies its foodservice and industrial clients with turnkey frozen fruit solutions as the size of whole strawberries can be separated as small, medium or large – matching the precise needs of its customers.

    Pears

    Whether conventional or organic, Wawona grows and processes the finest varieties of pears and have year-round availability in many different styles and packs to meet the product needs of customers. Chefs have long valued pears in salads and desserts. Restaurants are recognizing their versatility and menuing pears as a healthy ingredient in appetizers, entrees and even pizza. In addition to foodservice, Wawona’s industrial clients use pears in pies, cakes, jams, chutneys, yogurt and much more.     Plums

    Wawona carefully crafts its plum purée to retain a purity in color, flavor and nutritional value. The purée adds a sweet fruity taste to beverages, baked goods and desserts. Chefs have prized plum purée in sauces, marinades and dressings. Industrial uses of Wawona’s plum purée include fruit bars and snacks, confections, baby food, jelly and jam.
