Wawona Update
During peak season, the facility processes hand- picked peaches sourced from roughly 100 local growers in the San Joaquin Valley. The fruit is sorted, hand-inspected, sliced and frozen using IQF. Wawona’s flagship Clovis plant transforms approximately 55,000 tons of fresh peaches each year into over 70 million pounds of frozen product, serving a wide range of retail, and industrial foodservice clients. During peak harvest season, Wawona increases its workforce from around 300 to nearly 900 employees to keep up with the high volume of fruit coming into the Clovis facility. Our team works around the clock to sort, slice, and freeze millions of pounds of fresh peaches, ensuring top-quality fruit reaches families across the country!
