In the summer of 1952 it was common to find Muriel Smittcamp, the wife of founder Earl Smittcamp, selling the extra fresh peaches not needed in production at Wawona. What started as a simple roadside stand and one genuine farmer’s wife, The Peach Tree has now – almost 70 years later – become a staple in the Clovis community. The original wooden shed has become a quaint storefront; the workers are now local high school or junior high students learning how to work a first job; and you will find local honey, jams, jellies, and a freezer stocked with fresh frozen products joining our peaches. But what hasn’t changed is the desire to provide quality products to our community while working together as a family.

While The Peach Tree Is operated by Mother/Son partners Linda & Blake Smittcamp, it’s not uncommon to find any of the Smittcamp clan stocking peaches or visiting with customers. What once started as a seasonal stand, demand for all Wawona products has now created the opportunity for The Peach Tree to remain open year round. Wawona and the Smittcamps invite everyone living and visiting Clovis to stop by and enjoy local fresh fruit.
