Food Safety, Quality and Service Commitment to Customers

Wawona Food Safety

Beginning sixty years and three generations ago as a small family farm called Wawona, continues today as a family-owned agribusiness and major producer of fresh frozen food products. Nestled in California’s San Joaquin Valley, Wawona sits in the center of the richest and most fertile agricultural region of the world, the perfect environment for growing the best quality fruits.

We of Wawona Frozen Foods demonstrate our passion for food quality and safety in all aspects of food production, delivering the best quality fruit from the field to your freezer. In fact, much of the fruit grown and processed at Wawona is sold to other food companies as fruit ingredients for pies, baby foods, yogurt and other food products. Schools have trusted our fruit for years, and currently serve millions school children per year. All our products are packed with refreshing taste, texture, natural sweetness and the nutritional benefits of fresh fruit. Our fresh frozen fruit is – as close to nature as we can make it.

Wawona Frozen Foods is committed to food safety, quality and customer service. Quality is not just another goal; it is our core strategy for survival and future growth. Every employee is a member of an important team effort and is responsible to meet or exceed customer expectations and continually improve the quality in keeping with our objectives. Quality never stands second behind cost or schedule.

Our policies regarding quality and food safety is communicated by our trained, knowledgeable staff to all employees. Our supervisors from all departments communicate our good manufacturing practices and food safety, bringing accountability to all on the production floor. Employee involvement is actively solicited and effective communications is essential in maintaining the satisfaction of our customers.

To meet our customer’s expectations, we promote ‘continuous improvement’ throughout our business culture, never satisfied that the current level of quality, food safety, or success to be optimal. By continuing to improve the ways we treat our customers, employees, and vendors, we will contribute to the mutual business and personal success of all.

To assure the goals and disciplines are implemented fully, Wawona Frozen Foods has assigned staff and service resources sufficient to implement and maintain the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), selecting the SQF 2000 level 2 systems audit scheme for verification.
